Australian Youths Visit UIN Jakarta

Main Conference Room, UINJKT Online – Some International youths, graduates of Young Moslem Australian Exchange Program, visited State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta. They were welcomed by Rector Prof Dr Komaruddin Hidayat, the Vice Rector of Division of Institution Development Dr Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim and Director of International Office UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Andi Faisal Bakti in the Main Conference Room, Rector  Building, on Thursday (19/5).

The acceptance of guests from Australia began with the dialogue in Rector Room then continued with the discussion and dialogue in Main Conference Room which was attended by the students of UIN Jakarta who participated in the Australian Moslem Youth Exchange Program last year.

“The Discussion and Dialogue was aimed at strengthening collaboration and bilateral relationship between Indonesia, particularly UIN Jakarta and Australia,” Rector Komaruddin Hidayat said in his speech in Rector Building.

The rector added that UIN Jakarta open the opportunity and also will facilitate the Researchers from multinational countries to do research in UIN Jakarta, particularly those who want to observe the social life of Moslem students in the Pesantren.

The Meeting was followed by a discussion and dialogue  session in main Conference Room by the theme “Interfaith Tolerance Discussions and Moslem’s Life in Indonesian Society”. It was opened by the Director of International Office UIN Jakarta, Andi Faisal Bakti,  then was continued with presentation about Moslem life and Society in Australia.

The discussion between both the members of discussion of UIN Jakarta and Australia were very interactive. The participants were enthusiastic as can be seen by the large number of questions, opinions and comments.
