Ciputat, UIN NEWS Online – UIN Jakarta successfully charted in 200 world universities which were considered capable of utilizing Instagram (IG) in informing their academic programs to citizens. Together with UIN Jakarta, 12 other national universities were also considered successful in utilizing social media.

That is the assessment of the UniRank college ranking institution Instagram University Ranking through electronic mail received by UIN Jakarta. “We are proud to inform you that your official university account is one of the top 200 official accounts of the world’s top universities,” the letter was quoted as saying by UIN NEWS Online, Thursday (09/27/2018).

In this ranking, UIN Jakarta was ranked 157th of the most popular global university Instagram accounts. Together with UIN Jakarta, national universities with similar notes include the University of Indonesia, UGM, IPB, University 11 March, Airlangga University, Semarang State University, Malang State University, Siah Kuala University, Brawijaya University, and Bandung Institute of Technology.

The ranking itself is based on the assessment until September 2018. The assessment is based on the number of followers or followers of the Instagram account of each university. For this year, the assessment was applied to 5,103 university Instagram accounts from 13,590 world universities.

Head of Publication and Documentation Sub Division Samsuddin S. Kom said, the entry of the official UIN Jakarta Instagram account in the top 200 instagram accounts of world universities is a boost for the university to be more optimal in utilizing social media in conveying information to the public.

“Internet-based media, including social media, is one of our main choices in delivering academic information to UIN Jakarta stakeholders. “Insha Allah, we will continue to develop so that we can answer the needs of public information about UIN Jakarta,” he explained.

The meeting of the UIN Jakarta Web-o-metric team led by the Head of LPM Dr. Sururin MA also recommended the use of social media in conveying information to the public. The tendency of people to use smart devices makes them stick with social media devices.

“Crafting Information about UIN Jakarta must be creative. Social media can be the main means of delivering this information,” she continued. (usa)
