Research development is especially needed in scientific fields such as medicine and community medicine, science and technology, chemistry and exact sciences, biology and natural sciences, and economics.

As a State Islamic Religious College, he continued, the strength of UIN Jakarta is in the field of humanities sciences. But as transformation and encouragement of integration of Islam and science since 2000, UIN Jakarta is required to strengthen the field of science and technology.

Yet, in order to strengthen the research capacity and optimalize the results, UIN Jakarta need to establish research cooperation with best universities, both in or outside the country.

“One of universities we are targeting is UII. Besides having historical closeness, UII also has a track record of science that UIN Jakarta needs to learn. So maybe in UIN Jakarta there are more, in UII there are more. That way, we can learn and sharing to grow together, “he explained.

On the other side, Nandang welcomed UIN Jakarta desire on research cooperation. He hoped it able to complete the field of science of each college. “Of course, in this partnership, it is expected that both institutions get benefit each other, filling each other so both of universities reach good progress,” he said.
