Rectorate, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta successfully achieves the first rank in PTKIN Webometric by leaving UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang and UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. While at the national level, UIN Jakarta is ranked 42. The first rank is occupied by UGM and followed by UI and ITB in the second and third ranks. The results are based on data from http://www.webometrics.info/en/Asia/Indonesia, on Tuesday (01/29/2019).
In response, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis appreciated the accomplishments and hoped that UIN Jakarta can increase the number of scientific journal publications and research findings. “By maximizing the scientific journals publications and research findings, it will enhance UIN Jakarta web repository further, automatically, our webometrics rank will increase,” said Amany.
She also added that all academic community of UIN Jakarta must work harder in order to compete with other national and international universities.
“The lecturers are expected to regularly update their blogs with articles and teaching materials,” she added.
For information, Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, also known as Ranking Web of Universities, is a ranking system for the world’s universities based on a composite indicator that takes into account both the volume of the Web contents (number of web pages and files) and the visibility and impact of these web publications according to the number of external site citations they received. The aim of the Ranking is to improve the presence of the academic and research institutions on the Web and to promote the open access publication of scientific results. (usa)
