Banda Aceh, UIN News Online — UIN Jakarta emerged as the second runner-up in Sports,art, research and science week (Pionir) of National State Islamic Higher Institution (PTKIN) with 2 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals. The overall championship title achieved by UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh who collected 6 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 9 bronze medals, the first runner up achieved by IAIN Tulungagung with 6 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. The second runner-up achieved by UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, with the acquisition of 2 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.

Vice Rector of Students Affair Prof Dr Yusran Razak MA when met by UIN News Online, (4/30), expressed his joy over the achievements of UIN Jakarta contingent in PIONIR VIII 2017. Although not bringing home the overall championship title, UIN Jakarta athletes have given their all to provide maximum performance at the competition.

“There is no such thing as a losing, you are all emerged as the winners in this competition. As i said before, the event itself is aimed to strengthen the silaturahmi between all PTKIN ,” he said.

Separately, UIN Jakarta contingent supervisor Andikey Kristianto hoped that UIN Jakarta will facilitate the teams for the next event preparation.

“I hope UIN Jakarta will facilitate the teams better for the next event preparation to achieve maximum results by concentrating on the particular favorite fields of sports,” he hoped.

UIN Jakarta sent its 56 students to compete in 19 branches of competitions. Here are the complete results of medals achieved by the UIN Jakarta; Quranic poetry and badminton (female doubles) successfully gained a gold medal; Arabic debates 1 silver medal, Table tennis (ping pong) 1 silver medal, Chess 1 silver medal, MMQ 1 silver medal, Badminton (female singles) 1 silver medal and Badminton (male doubles) 1 one silver medal, while Innovative product competition and MSQ each obtained 1 bronze medal.

PIONIR VIII was held from April 26 to May 1 at UIN Ar-Raniry, Banda Aceh. This event involves all National State Islamic Higher Education Institutions. (usa)
