SPs, UIN News Online – The Graduate School (SPs) UIN Jakarta, in collaboration with Paramadina Graduate School of Islamic Studies holds International Colloquium on Interdisciplinary Studies 2019, Thursday-Friday (11/07-08/2019) at SPs, campus II of UIN Jakarta.
The colloquium was officiated by the Director of SPs UIN Jakarta, Jamhari at SPs Building, Thursday (11/07/2019). Jamhari ini his remarks said, the colloquium invites lecturers, experts, observers, researchers, activists and students from various universities throughout Indonesia to participate actively in discussing important issues on Sustainability and Religion in the world, especially in Indonesia
“For that reason, the colloquium also invited a number of speakers from various local and international academic institutions who would highlight Islamic studies from various angles they studied,” he explained.
Moreover, the colloquium invites a number of speakers; among them are Prof Takeshi Kohno (Toyo Eiwa University), Jeremy Kingsley (Seinburne University of Technology), Kevin W Fogg (Oxford University), Nacim Pak Shiraz (University of Edinburgh), and Fuad Jabali (UIN Jakarta).
The colloquium is also filled with panel discussions according to the specified topics, namely Islam and History; Islam and Law; Islam and Education; Islam and Philosophy; Islam, Women and Gender; Islam and Economics; Islam, Media, and Information Technology; Islam and Quranic-Hadith Studies; Islam, Health, and Medicine, Religion and Sustainability; Islam and Science; Integration of Science or Islamization Knowledge; Islam and Preaching.
On the first day, there were four groups discussing four different topics, namely Qur’an and Hadith Studies; Islamic Law and Social Institution; Islamic Literature, Texts and Islamic Economics, and Sufism and Islamic Thought. (usa)
