UIN Jakarta and UniPSAS Malaysia Explore Cross-Border Collaboration, Strengthen Commitment to Academic Partnership

Main Conference Room, UIN News Online — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta welcomed a delegation from Universiti Islam Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah (UniPSAS), Malaysia, to explore the potential for academic and institutional cross-border collaboration. The visit took place at the Main Conference Room, Rectorate Building, on Friday (May 2, 2025).

Representing the leadership of UIN Jakarta were Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Affairs, Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D., Head of the Bureau of General Administration and Staffing, Sri Ilham Lubis, S.Ag., M.Si., along with faculty leaders. They warmly welcomed the UniPSAS delegation, which was led directly by Vice Chancellor YBrs. Associate Professor Dr. Hj. Mohd Zawawi bin Zainal Abidin and his team.

In his remarks, Vice Rector Din Wahid stated that this meeting was an initial step toward establishing more concrete collaborations in the future, especially in the fields of academics, research, and human resource exchange.

“We are very open to collaborating with UniPSAS in various areas, such as student and faculty exchange programs, international seminars, and curriculum development based on knowledge integration,” he said.

Echoing this sentiment, Associate Professor Dr. Hj. Mohd Zawawi, accompanied by Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic and International Affairs, Associate Professor Dr. Muhammad Fadlly Bin Ismail, expressed his appreciation for UIN Jakarta's warm welcome and looked forward to future opportunities for collaboration.

“UIN Jakarta has a strong reputation as one of the leading Islamic higher education institutions in the region. We see great potential for collaboration, particularly in strengthening academic networks through research between Malaysia and Indonesia,” he explained. He added, “Through this meeting, we hope to pave the way for building synergy and exchanging experiences in the development of high-quality Islamic higher education.”

This meeting marks the beginning of a promising institutional relationship between the two universities, aiming to strengthen international networks and foster impactful collaboration for the advancement of academic knowledge and institutional capacity.

The meeting concluded with an open dialogue session and a group photo, symbolizing the start of what is hoped to be a long-term and sustainable partnership.
