Press Release: Safeguarding State-Owned Property Under the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, c.q. UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta

On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the safeguarding of State-Owned Property under the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, c.q. UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (Madrasah Pembangunan and TK Ketilang), located in Pisangan Subdistrict, East Ciputat District, South Tangerang City, Banten Province, was carried out. The total land area is 13,190 m² (Madrasah Pembangunan) and 1,000 m² (TK Ketilang), as stipulated in Right of Use Certificate No. 2 of 1988 under the name of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, c.q. UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

As of now, Yayasan Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (Madrasah Pembangunan) has not fulfilled its payment obligations based on the following billing letters:

  1. Letter No. B-210/PUSPENBIS/HK.02.1/09/2024 dated September 10, 2024, regarding Payment of Land and Building Rent;
  2. Letter No. B-405/PUSPENBIS/HK.02.1/12/2024 dated December 9, 2024, regarding Land and Building Rent;
  3. Letter No. B-421/PUSPENBIS/HK.02.11/12/2024 dated December 31, 2024, regarding Confirmation of Land and Building Rent Payment;
  4. Letter No. B-436/PUSPENBIS/HK.02.1/1/2025 dated January 9, 2025, regarding Confirmation of Land and Building Rent Payment;
  5. Letter No. B-1323/R.II/HM.01.1/02/2025 dated February 28, 2025, regarding Rent Fee for Madrasah Pembangunan Syarif Hidayatullah; and
  6. Letter No. B-1879/R/KS.00.1/4/2025 dated April 8, 2025, regarding Notification.

The Cooperation Agreement (PKS)/Lease Agreement No. B-4573/R/OT.01.6/12/2023 between UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and Yayasan Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (Madrasah Pembangunan) expired on June 30, 2024, and has not been renewed.

With respect to TK Ketilang, since the transition from the previous foundation (Yayasan Syarif Hidayatullah) to the new one (Yayasan Ketilang Insan Mandiri), rent payments have not been made in accordance with Letter No. B-1322/R.II/HM.01.1/2/2025 dated February 28, 2025, regarding Payment of Land and Building Rent.

The safeguarding of State-Owned Property as referred to in point 1 is strictly an administrative safeguard effort in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Finance (PMK) No. 181/PMK.06/2016 on the Management of State-Owned Property. This action is further supported by the Letter from the Secretary General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia No. 055.93/SJ/B.V/HK.04/3/2025 dated March 21, 2025, regarding Follow-Up Actions, which essentially mandates UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta to conduct administrative safeguarding of State-Owned Property.

The safeguarding measures, including the sealing of property as referred to in point 1, do not disrupt teaching and learning activities for students at Madrasah Pembangunan and TK Ketilang.

UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta now awaits good faith from Yayasan Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (Madrasah Pembangunan) and Yayasan Ketilang Insan Mandiri (TK Ketilang) to return the State-Owned Property to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, c.q. UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
