Nurul Yaqin, UIN Jakarta Alumnus of FITK Who Successfully Founded a Global Property Business Company and an Islamic Education Foundation
Jakarta, UIN Online News — Emerging from the lecture halls of the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FITK) of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta, Nurul Yaqin has built an inspiring career and educational journey. Drawing on his academic foundation and the professional network he cultivated during his university years, he successfully advanced into the property business sector. For Yaqin, success is not solely defined by personal achievements but also by educational attainment, expanded professional networks, and persistence—qualities he believes reflect a high standard of life.
Graduating in 1992, when UIN Jakarta was still known as IAIN, Yaqin credits his accomplishments to a combination of perseverance, opportunities, and blessings that stemmed from his pursuit of knowledge and his efforts to strengthen faith and devotion to Allah. Remarkably, during his college years, he was entrusted with managing a computer company despite lacking prior experience or technical knowledge. To him, this early opportunity served as proof of the blessings that accompanied his path.
Yaqin, born on June 25, 1966, unlocked the key to his professional success in 2003, twenty-two years ago. He established himself as Founder, Director, and President of PT Multi Hokkindo Adji, a company operating globally in the property sector. Its trademark brand, Ben Hokk, has maintained a strong focus on real estate development, property consulting, investment, land acquisition, and building management. Headquartered in BSD City, South Tangerang, the company has expanded its reach across domestic and international markets. In addition, Yaqin actively manages the El Yaqin Foundation, a non-profit organization in the field of education.
“From a career perspective, I started trading as early as my third semester. I even took over small coal shops from a senior who had to serve in the military. For me, that experience was part of sharpening my entrepreneur instincts,” he explained.
He further underlined the importance of integrating Islamic values into daily life. At UIN Jakarta, Yaqin balanced his hybrid roles as student and professional while staying grounded in faith and devotion. According to him, success in education and career, at any institution, requires seriousness, perseverance, and a strong spiritual foundation.
“The graduation ceremony at this campus is unmatched in excitement for me, and I am immensely proud of this university. I have spent my life here to the fullest, not only by studying but also by maximizing every opportunity it provided,” he remarked during UIN Jakarta’s 137th Graduation Ceremony.
Addressing the graduates, Yaqin encouraged them to cultivate strong character, sharp instincts, and resilience to combat the difficulties of the global era. Reflecting on his journey, Yaqin emphasized that persistence during academic years can sometimes lead to major accomplishments that one never thinks of.
