Hadi Susanto

Born and raised in Lumajang, East Java, Prof. Susanto completed his undergraduate education (BSc) with Cum Laude honors at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2001. He then pursued his international academic career at the University of Twente, the Netherlands, where he earned his Master of Science (MSc) degree in 2003 and Doctorate (PhD) in 2006, both in Applied Mathematics.

His international academic journey began as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, United States (2005–2007). He later moved to the United Kingdom, where he served as Lecturer to Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Nottingham (2008–2013) and subsequently at the University of Essex (2014–2022). In 2020, he joined Khalifa University.

In Indonesia, Prof. Susanto remains actively engaged as a Visiting/Honorary Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Indonesia (UI) and Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA), and as a Member of the Advisory Board of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). His excellence in higher education teaching is further recognized through his certification as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), United Kingdom (2013).

As a researcher, his areas of expertise include Dynamical Systems, Nonlinear Waves, Mathematical Modelling, Numerical Methods, Mathematical Physics, and Mathematical Biology. His dedication to the scientific community is reflected in his service as an Associate Editor for several leading international journals, including the IMA Journal of Applied Mathematics (Oxford University Press) and Optical and Quantum Electronics (Springer Nature).
