Go Global! UIN Jakarta Opens International Community Service Program in Japan, Hong Kong, and Saudi Arabia
Jakarta, UIN News Online — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, through its Center for Community Engagement (PPM), continues to expand students' community service opportunities beyond national borders. The university has officially opened registration for the 2026 International Community Service Program (KKN Internasional), offering students the opportunity to undertake community-based projects in several overseas destinations. The program was officially announced through the Instagram accounts of PPM UIN Jakarta and AIESEC UIN Jakarta.
According to information gathered by UIN News Online, the selection process for this year's International Community Service Program is being conducted in several phases. Registration for the Malaysia program, which ran from 26 December 2025 to 5 January 2026, and the Japan program, held from 28 January to 8 February 2026, has now officially closed. However, applications remain open for three other international destinations.
PPM UIN Jakarta is currently accepting applications for Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia, with registration open from 26 February to 29 March 2026.
Preparing Students for Global Engagement
Head of PPM UIN Jakarta, Ade Rina Farida, M.Si., emphasized that the International Community Service Program is far more than an overseas experience. Rather, it serves as a strategic platform for students to develop both professional competencies and leadership skills within a global context.
“This program is designed to provide students not only with cross-cultural experiences but also with opportunities to strengthen their leadership through direct involvement in real community projects on the international stage,” she said.
She further highlighted the importance of preparing students to address global challenges while representing the university abroad.
“Students must be ready to contribute. This is a valuable opportunity to apply their knowledge in an international setting. We hope that those selected will uphold the university's reputation while delivering meaningful solutions to social issues in their host communities,” she added.
Collaboration with AIESEC Expands Global Opportunities
In addition to the PPM-managed programs in Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia, UIN Jakarta is partnering with AIESEC UIN Jakarta through the International Community Service x Global Volunteer initiative.
This collaborative program offers placements in Vietnam and Cambodia, focusing on projects that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Registration for this pathway remains open from 21 February until 30 April 2026, providing a longer application period for interested students.
The program will run for six to eight weeks, and participating sixth-semester students will receive academic credit recognition (SKS) in accordance with university regulations.
