DWP UIN Jakarta Holds Qur'an Completion Ceremony and Charity Program for Orphans and Staff

Fathullah Mosque, UIN Online News — The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta organized a series of religious and social activities at Fathullah Mosque on Tuesday (10 March 2026). The event featured a Khatmil Qur'an (Qur'an completion ceremony), charitable assistance for orphans, and the distribution of food packages to university support staff as part of the institution's Ramadan outreach program.

The event was attended by Dra. Hj. Helmi Halimatul Udhma, M.Si., wife of Indonesia's Minister of Religious Affairs, Prof. Dr. K.H. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A., Chairperson of DWP UIN Jakarta Tati Nur Qomaryati, S.E., members of the university community, and approximately 100 participants divided into several Qur'an recitation groups.

In her remarks, Helmi Halimatul Udhma highlighted the inseparable relationship between spiritual devotion and social responsibility. She commended DWP UIN Jakarta for consistently fostering solidarity across the university community.

"Today's gathering is far more than an annual ceremony. It is a tangible manifestation of Qur'anic values. Combining the completion of Qur'an recitation with charitable assistance demonstrates that personal devotion should always go hand in hand with social compassion for the well-being of society," she said.

Chairperson of DWP UIN Jakarta Tati Nur Qomaryati expressed her appreciation for the dedication of the participants and emphasized that the organization's mission extends beyond ceremonial activities to strengthening bonds of care and togetherness within the university.

"We are here to strengthen our bonds of compassion. Please do not measure these gifts by their material value, but rather as a symbol of our care and appreciation for the women who have devoted themselves to studying the Qur'an at Fathullah Mosque. May Allah bless us all," she remarked.

She further noted that the program serves as an important opportunity to reinforce the spirit of kinship among members of the university community.

"We sincerely hope this gathering will strengthen our friendship and allow us to share the blessings and happiness of this holy month together," she added.

Head of the Fathullah Mosque Qur'an Study Group, Hj. Purwati, also expressed her gratitude for DWP UIN Jakarta's continued support, noting that the annual program provides an important platform for congregants to improve their Qur'an recitation while fostering ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood).

The event began with a collective recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an and concluded with the symbolic presentation of financial assistance to dozens of orphans, followed by the distribution of food packages to support staff across UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

Through this initiative, DWP UIN Jakarta hopes to nurture the values of mutual assistance, compassion, and Islamic solidarity, contributing to a more harmonious and caring academic community.
