UIN Jakarta's Top Graduate Urges Classmates to Drive Societal Impact
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News – Carrying the theme “Confirming Innovative, Integrity-Driven, and Human-Centric Graduates,” UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta honored its top graduates during the 141st Commencement Ceremony for Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctoral Programs held at the Harun Nasution Auditorium on Saturday (September 12, 2026).
The third session inaugurated 829 graduates from three faculties: the Faculty of Dawah and Communication Sciences (FDIKOM), the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), and the Faculty of Psychology (FPSi)—contributing to a grand total of 3,154 graduates across the entire 141st Commencement. Pursuant to Rector’s Decree No. 516 of 2026, top graduate honors were conferred upon Gendis Nastiti from FDIKOM's Social Welfare Study Program with a 3.96 GPA, and Aulya Octavia Nurhaya from FPSi's Psychology Study Program, also achieving a 3.96 GPA. They were joined by Al Kahfi from FDIKOM's Dawah Management Program with a 3.93 GPA, and Cum Laude graduate Muhammad Rosyid Ridho from FST's Agribusiness Program with a 3.79 GPA.
Furthermore, UIN Jakarta awarded accolades for Best Undergraduate Thesis. The awards went to Azra Hilya Izzati from FPSi for her thesis titled "Cognitive Load: The Role of Stimulus Complexity Level, Growth Mindset, Emotion Regulation, Screen Time Duration, and Gender," and Nabila Zahran Yulia for her thesis titled "Seismic Attribute Analysis for Reservoir Characterization of the Lidah Formation in the 'X' Field, North East Java Basin."
Delivering the valedictory address on behalf of the 141st graduating class, Azra Hilya Izzati reminded her peers that innovation, integrity, and human-centric impact are deeply interconnected principles in practice.
“My fellow graduates, becoming innovative, integrity-driven, and human-centric graduates are not standalone qualities. Innovation requires integrity so as not to lose its direction. Integrity requires courage so it does not remain a mere theoretical principle. Ultimately, both must culminate in public benefit so that our knowledge creates a meaningful impact for humanity. For as knowledge and capability grow, so does the responsibility that follows,” she stated.
Azra noted that alumni will embark on diverse post-graduation pathways, assuring her peers that the knowledge acquired during university life will serve as a reliable guide regardless of the direction they choose.
“Starting today, we may walk along different paths—whether pursuing higher education, entering the workforce, or still figuring out what we truly wish to become. None of those choices are wrong. In the end, that is perhaps one of the core meanings of education: it is not merely about making us smarter, but turning us into human beings who understand how to utilize our capabilities wisely,” she added.
Echoing this perspective, top graduate from FDIKOM's Social Welfare Program, Gendis Nastiti, expressed her commitment to driving positive change through community empowerment and local potential.
“After graduating from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, I want to work in an environment where I can empower communities. My focus is not merely viewing communities through their problems, but identifying and developing their inherent potential,” she explained.
Gendis reflected that her student journey up to being named a top graduate shaped her character and resilience.
“My greatest struggle to reach this point was constantly overcoming fear and doubt. I always pushed myself to try new things to discover the extent of my capabilities. That became my anchor: never be afraid to try,” she concluded.
The Rector of UIN Jakarta also advised the graduates to continuously equip themselves with moral goodness as they navigate rapid technological advancements and global competition.
In total, UIN Jakarta inaugurated 3,154 graduates during its 141st Commencement. The series of ceremonies took place across two waves on Saturday (September 12, 2026) and Sunday (September 13, 2026) at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, Campus I UIN Jakarta.
