UIN Jakarta to explore cooperation with the DPRD of East Belitung

Rectorate, UIN News Online – In order to develop the quality of human resources in the area, the DPRD of East Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung, is exploring cooperation opportunities with UIN Jakarta on Wednesday (05/19/2021).

The group, led by the chairman of commision 3, East Belitung DPRD Jafri were warmly welcomed by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis, accompanied by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Zulkifli, Vice Rector for General Administration Ahmad Rodoni and Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development Lily Surraya Eka Putri.

According to Jafri, East Belitung is one of the districts in Bangka Belitung which has a majority Muslim population. However, the regional human resource capacity still needs to be improved. Therefore, said Jafri, the DPRD and the East Belitung Regency Government agreed to collaborate with UIN Jakarta in developing the human resource capacity.

“As a reputable Islamic university, UIN Jakarta also has a medical faculty and a health science faculty. That is the main reason why we chose UIN Jakarta as a potential partner,” said Jafri.

In response, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis positively welcomed the idea of the East Belitung Regency Government and DPRD who wish to collaborate with UIN Jakarta in the field of education. According to Rector Amany, UIN Jakarta is a campus that integrates religious and secular sciences.

“Currently, UIN Jakarta has 78 study programs in 12 faculties, both undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral as well as professional programs,” said Rector.

She also explained that UIN Jakarta is currently working with the Musi Banyuasin Regency Government and the Palangkaraya City Government. The cooperation scheme is in the form of scholarships for prospective students from the area to study at the faculty of medicine and the faculty of health sciences of UIN Jakarta.

“Alhamdulillah, the collaboration with the Musi Banyuasin Regency Government and the Palangkaraya City Government has been going well, in fact many students from the two regions have returned to their respective regions after graduating from UIN Jakarta,” said Rector Amany. (usa/ns)
