UIN Jakarta Socializes Campus and Rector Scholarship in Several Cambodia Islamic Schools

Jakarta, UIN Online News - In an effort to enhance educational cooperation and expand its international reach, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Jakarta held a four-day campus socialization and rector scholarship event, from March 5 to 8, 2024, at the Islamic School of Cambodia. The event attracted class XII students from three leading high schools in Cambodia, namely An-Nikmah Al-Islamiyah, Cambodian Islamic Center, and Norol Iman Chroy Metrey.

In addition to the socialization session, UIN Jakarta also participated in "The Congress on Islamic Education 2015-2023 and Future Directions", an important event attended by more than 500 teachers and leaders of educational institutions. UIN Jakarta's presence at this event marks its commitment in promoting higher education and introducing the various academic programs offered by the university.

Teguh Adhi Primasanto, First Secretary for Political, Social, and Cultural Functions at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Phnom Penh, in his speech stated that Cambodian students' interest in continuing their studies in Indonesia is very high. However, until now, there are no students who continue to UIN Jakarta. He emphasized the importance of spreading information about UIN Jakarta so that students can find out more about the opportunities available.

Furthermore, Teguh Adhi Primasanto highlighted the urgent need for Indonesian language teachers in Cambodia, which opens up opportunities for UIN Jakarta to initiate language teaching programs. This initiative is expected to not only strengthen educational ties between the two countries but also promote Indonesian language and culture in the international arena.

With these steps, UIN Jakarta hopes to attract more international students and enrich their educational experience with a global perspective. (PIH)
