UIN Jakarta: Science research dominates the number of scientific articles published by Scopus
Rectorate, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta managed to record a fairly high percentage of scientific research published by Scopus. In the future, the number of published research journals indexed by Scopus is expected to increase. This is in line with the internationalization agenda of UIN Jakarta.
Based on the infographic data from the UIN Jakarta Research Center accessed by UIN News Online, Friday (03/12/2021), UIN Jakarta has recorded 860 scientific articles published and indexed by Scopus. This number was contributed by 620 authors from various faculties. These 860 articles are divided into 25 scientific clusters such as Computer Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, biochemistry, chemistry, nursing science and others.
Of the total 25 clusters, the number of scientific articles in the field of computer sciences reached 293 articles, higher than the total articles in the social sciences cluster (249 articles). The percentage of computer sciences cluster contributed as much as 18.8 percent, higher than social sciences (17.9 percent).
Furthermore, decision sciences contributed 133 articles or 15.9 percent to the total published articles. Then, Engineering with 131 articles or 8.5 percent. The infographic data also states the contribution of each cluster respectively. Among them, Arts and Humanities (126 articles), physics and astronomy (99 articles), business management & accounting (97 articles), and medicine (66 articles), biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology (47 articles), environmental science (42 articles), agricultural and biological sciences (40 articles), economics, econometrics and finance (39 articles), materials science (34 articles), mathematics (33 articles), earth and planetary sciences (24 articles), and pharmacology , toxicology and pharmaceutics (22 articles).
Next, chemistry (21 articles), nursing (15 articles), energy (14 articles), and psychology (12 articles). Furthermore, 21 articles were contributed by several other scientific clusters, namely immunology and microbiology, multidisciplinary, chemical engineering, neuroscience, and veterinary.
Previously, the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in the UIN Jakarta Leadership Meeting, Wednesday (03/10/2021) revealed that the quantity of scientific articles published in recognized journals was one of her concerns. This is in line with the internationalization effort of UIN Jakarta as a center for Islamic and science studies.
According to the Rector, scientific publication will be one of the six main work programs of UIN Jakarta in 2021. The other five programs are; campus internationalization, optimization of assets and business development, optimizing the role of students and alumni, transforming information systems, and human capital development.
