UIN Jakarta receives baznas award 2022

Jakarta, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta received an award from the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) 2022 as an educational institution that supporting zakat litercacy at the 2022 Baznas Award held at The Sultan Hotel Jakarta, Monday (01/17/2022).

The award was given directly by the Chairman of Baznas KH Noor Achmad to the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis. In addition to UIN Jakarta and other higher education institutions, awards were also given to a number of national figures, ministries and institutions, regional heads, district and city governments, international institutions, media, artists and influencers in various categories.

President Joko Widodo and the six former Indonesian presidents also received the award, namely Soekarno, Suharto, BJ Habibie, Abdurrahman Wahid, Megawati Soekarnoputri, and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

“Alhamdulillah, this is an achievement for UIN Jakarta. UIN Jakarta actively supports the Baznas program in the zakat movement among academic community and the general public,” said Rector Aamany after receiving the award.

Rector also said that UIN Jakarta continues to carry out literacy movements regarding zakat empowerment. UIN Jakarta also succeeded in becoming a pioneer for the development of zakat in Indonesia.

The award ceremony which was held to coincide with the 21st anniversary of Baznas and virtually opened by President Joko Widodo and attended by Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin. The Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas also had the opportunity to deliver his speech at the event.

Also present were the Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, nine governors, as well as a number of mayors and regents. (usa/ns)
