UIN Jakarta-BRI sign cooperation agreement

Jakarta, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta, along with other state and private universities in Indonesia signed a cooperation agreement with PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) in the field of Certified Student Internship Program (PMMB). This program is a commitment of State Owned Enterprises (BUMN) in educating the nation's children.

The signing was carried out by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis and Human Capital Director of BRI R. Sophia Alizsa at the BRI Jakarta Headquarters, Thursday (22/08/2019). Also present in the event, Consumer Director of BRI Handayani and Executive Director of the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI) Sofyan Rohidi.

PMMB is a program initiated by the Ministry for State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).  This program has been running since 2018. In 2019, the BRI PMMB was expanded with an additional 22 universities participating in the program.

“This program is a concrete manifestation of BRI's national aspirations to realize a better Indonesia through human resources development,” said Sophia.

Meanwhile, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis said that this program will have a positive impact in improving the quality of graduates.  “Internships program provide students with more meaningful and positive experiences,” said Rector.

Furthermore, she said, this program can also expand the networks between universities and employers, resulting in a link and match.

“This cooperation program is in accordance with the current higher education curriculum based on the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI). In addition to diplomas, in this new curriculum, students who graduate will also be equipped with a Diploma Supplement Certificate (SKPI),” she concluded. (usa/ns)
