Three Volunteers from UIN Jakarta Heading for Disaster Sites in South Kalimantan and West Sulawesi
Rectorate, UIN News Online – Student communities who are members of the UIN Jakarta Student Activity Unit (UKM) such as KPA Arkadia, UKM KSR, UKM Flat, LPM Institut, LDK UIN Jakarta sent three volunteers to South Kalimantan and West Sulawesi. Apart from participating in the emergency response process, the three are expected to distribute donations directly to affected residents.
The chairman of KPA Arkadia UIN Jakarta Wildan Abdul Aziz to UIN Online News, Wednesday (01/20/2021), said that the volunteers are dispatched on Tuesday (01/19/2021). They are Angelia and Ferrial from KPA Arkadia and Alfi from KSR UIN Jakarta.
The volunteer team, continued Wildan, was divided into two teams. The first team consisting of Ferrial was sent to the flood-affected area in South Kalimantan, while the second team consisting of Angelia and Alfi was sent to the location affected by an earthquake in West Sulawesi.
“Hopefully everything goes according to the plan,” he hoped.
It is known that flash floods have hit a number of areas in South Kalimantan. At the same time, an earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale also hit the South Sulawesi region. Apart from the damaged houses being flooded and destroyed by the earthquake, the disaster also caused many victims. Thousands of residents are now living in refugee camps
To help ease the burden on the victims, the UIN Jakarta student community immediately opened a donation account to be distributed to affected residents.
