This Year, SPs UIN Jakarta implements offline Doctoral Promotion Examination

SPs, UIN News Online – Starting early this year, the Graduate School (SPs) of UIN Jakarta will implement an offline examination system. However, this policy was taken while still observing strict health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Director of SPs UIN Jakarta Asep Sapudin Jahar in his written statement to UIN News Online, Tuesday (01/04/2021) said that the re-enactment of offline exams only applies to participants in the doctoral program promotion exam. As for the participants of the master's program exam, it is still carried out online.

“Offline  doctoral promotion exam is located at the Prof Dr Suwito Auditorium. Meanwhile, the master's program exam is conducted online via the Zoom platform,” he said.

According to Asep, the offline doctoral promotion exam will be carried out by implementing strict procedures, such as washing hands with soap or hand sanitizer, wearing masks, and maintaining social distancing.

The number of participants who attend is also limited to less than 20 people. In addition, every visitor who will watch the doctoral promotion exam is asked to wash their hands first. After that, body temperature will be checked and each seat will be arranged with a distance of 1-1.5 meters.

“The health condition of promovendus/promovenda and all those present must also be healthy,” said Asep.

Asep also said that the first offline doctoral promotion exam will be conducted on Wednesday (5/1/2022) and will test a doctoral candidate named Usman Musthafa. Promovendus will defend his dissertation in front of a team of examiners with the title “Pembaharuan Hukum Keluarga: Kajian tentang Maqasid al-Shari’ah dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 1 Tahun 1974 tentang Perkawinan”

The examiners who will present are Prof. Dr. Phil Asep Saepudin Jahar, Prof. Dr. Said Agil Husin Al Munawar, Prof. Dr. Abdul Gani Abdullah, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amin Suma, Prof. Dr. M. Arskal Salim GP, and Prof. Dr. Didin Saepudin. (ns/usa)
