Strengthening the KSA-Indonesian cooperation, Director of LIPIA visits UIN Jakarta

Rectorate, UIN News Online – To strengthen the relationship between the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the Indonesian government, Director of the Jakarta Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences (LIPIA) Bandar bin Sa'ad Al Alam held an academic visit to UIN Jakarta on Thursday (01/13/2022).

His visit was warmly welcomed by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in her office in Rectorate Building, campus I of UIN Jakarta. Also present in the event, Vice Rector of Cooperation and Institutional Development Lily Surraya Eka Putri and lecturer from the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teachers Tarining Sciences (FITK) Supriyadi.

In his remarks, Bandar said that the purpose of his visit to UIN Jakarta was not only to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions (UIN Jakarta-LIPIA -ed)  but also to strengthen bilateral relations between the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Indonesian government.

According to Bandar, LIPA's collaboration with UIN Jakarta has been established for a long time and contributes positively to the development of Islamic knowledge and Arabic language and culture in Indonesia.

“We hope that we can maintain and strengthen this cooperative relationship. I am also very grateful that at UIN Jakarta already has an Arab Corner as an information center for Arabic science and culture,” Said Bandar.

He also added that the existence of LIPIA in Jakarta has been welcomed by the publik. This is evidenced by the large number of Indonesian citizens enrolling to study at LIPIA.

In the future, he hopes that LIPIA can further develop and get full support from the government and the Indonesian people.

In response, Rector Amany said that UIN Jakarta had played a role as a mentor for LIPIA. She also hopes that the cooperation between UIN Jakarta and LIPIA can be maintained in order to advance Islamic knowledge and Arabic language in Indonesia.

“Insha Allah, UIN Jakarta will continue to support LIPIA. Even with the Government of Saudi Arabia, we also facilitate the establishment of Arab Corner here at UIN Jakarta,” said Rector Amany (ns/usa)
