STF UIN Jakarta Holds International Volunteer Seminar

Diorama Room, UIN News Online – Social Trust Fund (STF) UIN Jakarta in collaboration with CAUKIN Studio holds seminar on international volunteering titled “International Volunteer Experiences: Challenges, Opportunities and Benefits” on Tuesday (08/01/2022) held at diorama room, campus I of UIN Jakarta.

The seminar presented international volunteers at UIN Jakarta, Silika Khowashi, a student of English Education Study Program UIN Jakarta, and 13 other international volunteers who were members of CAUKIN Studio, including Harrison Marshall (UK), Aidana Roberts (Kazakhstan), David Mahon (Ireland), and Aaron Chan (Scotland) as resource persons. Also present in the event, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis and Director of STF UIN Jakarta Amelia Fauzia.

Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in her remarks welcomes the CAUKIN Studio team. She also expressed her gratitude to CAUKIN Studio for their assistance in the construction of the STF prayer room in Cidokom, Gunung Sindur, Bogor, West Java.

On this occasion, CAUKIN Studio volunteers shared their experiences with the seminar participants regarding the opportunities and challenges of being an international volunteer. CAUKIN Studio itself is a volunteer organization engaged in design and construction projects worldwide. They have a mission to create impact through architecture.

Meanwhile, Silika Khowashi told the seminar participants not to be afraid to be involved as international volunteers. By becoming a volunteer, said Silika, there will be many new experiences to be gained.

“For those who are interested in volunteering,  you can get involved as a volunteer in your community,” she said. (ns/es/usa)
