Jeddah, UIN Online News—King Abdul Aziz University, Saudi Arabia, has opened up possibilities for closer collaboration in academic and research fields. This opportunity emerged during a direct visit from the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta team led by the Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar M.A. Ph.D., to the leadership of the university located in Jeddah on Tuesday (30/04/2024).
The Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ali Munhanif M.A. Ph.D., who was part of the visiting team, revealed that the visit to the campus in Jeddah was received directly by the Vice-Rector for Research and Graduate Studies, King Abdul Aziz University, Prof. Amin Yousef Noaman. During this visit, Rector Asep Jahar encouraged academic and research cooperation between the two universities.
"The agenda of Mr. Rector today is the meeting between the leadership of UIN Jakarta and the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Research, King Abdul Aziz University, Saudi Arabia. The meeting discusses opportunities for academic and research cooperation between the two universities," he explained.
Vice-Rector Ali added that cooperation with King Abdul Aziz University is crucial for UIN Jakarta. This is because King Abdul Aziz University ranks first among universities in Saudi Arabia.
Moreover, King Abdul Aziz University is also among the world's leading universities. Most recently, this university, established in 1967, ranked 153rd in the QS World University Rankings.
"And UIN Jakarta is the only university from Indonesia that has been accepted for cooperation in the last five years," he stated.
The opportunity for cooperation with King Abdul Aziz University itself, continued Vice-Rector Ali, is very wide open. This is due in part to the encouragement from Professor Amin Yousef Noaman, who requested that cooperation be immediately implemented into actionable programs.
