Graduate School of UIN Jakarta Rolls Out Two Programs

Serpong, UIN News Online — In order to promote the publication of scientific articles by graduate school lecturers, Graduate School (SPs) UIN Jakarta has launched the program “One Lecture One Scopus in One Year”. Additionally, SPs UIN Jakarta also aims to open an International Class on Islamic Studies.

This was conveyed by the Director of Sps UIN Jakarta, Zulkifli, during a presentation session on the work programs within the faculties and institutions of UIN Jakarta on Tuesday, (06/06/2023). According to Zulfikli, SPs UIN Jakarta is committed to increasing the number of research publications and internationalization of the offered programs.

“Through this program, it is expected that lecturers will be encouraged to publish their scientific works in Scopus-recognized journals,” said Zulkifli.

He further added that these publications can be accomplished by lecturers through research collaboration and joint publication with their respective students. In doing so, both the lecturers and students can establish a productive academic relationship in producing scientific works published in internationally recognized journals.

For internationalization, UIN Jakarta’s Graduate School has initiated the International Class on Islamic Studies program by offering internationally-oriented Islamic studies courses. The class, he continued, will be designed with a learning model and curriculum that adhere to international standards.

“In the aspect of academic excellence, UIN Jakarta’s Graduate School will roll out the International Class on Islamic Studies,” he added.

Furthermore, he added that they will also explore opportunities for opening dual degree or double degree programs with partner universities. This is in line with the partnership program offered by the Directorate General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

“We have already discussed this with the Directorate of Islamic Higher Education at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The Director General of Islamic Education (M. Ali Ramdhani) mentioned yesterday about the partnership opportunity with the University of Malaya, and we immediately welcomed the offer for a double degree program,” he concluded. (zm/usa)
