FSH UIN Jakarta Launches "Dialektika" Podcast, Produces Digital Content on Sharia and Legal Issues
Jakarta, UIN Online News – The Faculty of Sharia and Law at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has officially launched a digital platform in the form of a podcast called Dialektika, which regularly discusses issues related to sharia and law.
Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Muhammad Maksum, stated that the Dialektika Podcast is aimed at engaging the academic community of the Faculty in public discourse. “We want to be involved in national issues within the digital space. In fact, many national legal discussions often intersect with aspects of sharia,” said Maksum during the soft launch of the Dialektika Podcast in Jakarta, on Monday (April 28, 2025) afternoon.
Furthermore, the professor of Islamic economic law at UIN Jakarta mentioned that the podcast is also intended to enhance public recognition and reputation of the Faculty’s academic community. “Our hope is that public discourse on law and sharia will be enriched by the voices from the Faculty of Sharia and Law at UIN Jakarta,” Maksum added.
During the same occasion, Head of the Academic Production House and Creative Media Team of the Faculty, Ferdian Andi, explained that the Dialektika Podcast features a number of segments to serve as a platform for the ideas of the Faculty’s academic community.
“We discuss current issues in sharia and law, explore the thoughts of professors, dissect dissertations, and review key literature. This podcast is a medium for articulation and dialogue for the entire academic family of the Faculty of Sharia and Law at UIN Jakarta,” Ferdian explained.
In its first episode, the Dialektika Podcast features Professor of Islamic Family Law (Fiqh Munakahat) Prof. Dr. Mesraini, M.Ag., who is also Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty. The inaugural episode, themed “Women and Islamic Family Law”, was released in commemoration of Kartini Day on April 21.
In her presentation, Prof. Mesraini emphasized that Islam places husbands and wives in a partnership rather than a domination structure. “Islamic legal doctrine is not based on domination, nor on a superior-subordinate relationship, but on partnership, equality, mutual need, and complementarity,” said Prof. Mesraini, as quoted in the Dialektika Podcast.
The Dialektika Podcast by the Faculty of Sharia and Law at UIN Jakarta is available on YouTube and Spotify. It is scheduled to air every Monday at 4:00 PM (WIB), featuring a wide range of content—from current issue discussions, in-depth reviews of professors’ thoughts and academic works, to discussions of the latest scholarly publications from the Faculty’s academic community.
