Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — Muhammad Hafidz Lidinillah, Ph.D., Senior Policy Analyst at the Inspectorate General Secretariat of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, encouraged the graduates to be prepared for the ever-changing challenges facing the nation. He delivered this message during the 137th Grand Graduation Ceremony held at the Harun Nasution Auditorium on Sunday (August 31, 2025).

In his address before the professors, academic community, parents, and thousands of graduates, Hafidz Lidinillah expressed both pride and emotion as he returned to the campus that had shaped his academic journey.

"I recall the times when, twenty years ago, I sat as a graduate of the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah; nineteen years ago as a graduate of the Faculty of Ushuluddin; thirteen years ago at the Postgraduate School; and finally, achieving my doctoral degree abroad," he reflected.

He highlighted the paradox faced by Indonesia as the world's largest Muslim-majority country, yet still ranking relatively low on the Corruption Perception Index (IPK). He asserts that UIN Jakarta alumni, in particular, must address this major challenge.

"UIN Jakarta alumni must be able to make a tangible contribution, improve that perception index, and help lead Indonesia toward its golden future," he stressed.

He also conveyed three key messages in response to the challenges posed by technological disruption and economic shifts that demand adaptability to the changing times.

"To all graduates, I leave you with three important messages in facing technological disruption and economic challenges. First, have the courage to pursue your passions in both professional and academic fields. Second, expand your network, build cross-faculty connections, learn languages, and continue seeking knowledge. Third, rise together to face the challenges of our era—from technological disruption to global economic dynamics," he aspired.

Separately, he reminded us that true success is defined not only by personal gain but also by its impact on others.

"Success is something that benefits yourself and those around you. True success is not only about what we achieve personally, but also about the positive impact and benefits felt by society and the people around us," he added.

As background, Muhammad Hafidz Lidinillah, Ph.D., is an alumnus of UIN Jakarta: Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah (2004), Faculty of Ushuluddin (2005), and Postgraduate School (2012). He later earned his Doctor of Philosophy at the School of Law, Western Sydney University, in 2023. He currently serves as Senior Policy Analyst at the Inspectorate General Secretariat of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
