FAH UIN Jakarta-Wahid Foundation offers scholarship for undergraduate student

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Jakarta, in collaboration with the Wahid Foundation offers in the form of research assistance for students who write an undergraduate thesis on the role and thoughts of KH Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur. Scholarships worth IDR. 10 million are provided for five students of UIN Jakarta.

This was said by Official release from FAH UIN Jakarta on Monday (01/17/2022). “This scholarship is provided by FAH UIN Jakarta in collaboration with the Wahid Foundation and is open to all UIN Jakarta students who write undergraduate thesis about Gus Dur,” said the release

According to the rellease, scholarships are given to assist various activities related to research. As for the requirements, the applicant must be registered as active students of UIN Jakarta undergraduate program at a maximum of semester 10 with a minimum GPA of 3.25.

Furthermore, applicants must pass the proposal seminar, write an undergraduate thesis by using scientific approach of their respective study program, complete the research in one year, and willing to publish the research results in Sinta’s indexed journal.

The registration process can be done through https://bit.ly/3qW8NVx until March 31th, 2022, and the result will be announced on April 30th, 2022.

Meanwhile, the the Dean of FAH UIN Jakarta Saiful Umam revealed that this time Gus Dur's scholarship was offered for the second time after 2021. Like this year, the previous Gus Dur Scholarship was also given to five selected students.

According to Saiful, the scholarships are given to encourage students to get to know more about Gus Dur's thoughts in various ways. “Gus Dur is an important figure in Indonesian history, not only as an intellectual but also as an activist and statesman,” he said.

For information, Gus Dur was an Indonesian Muslim religious and political leader who served as the 4th President of Indonesia as well as the long-time president for Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). In addition, Gus Dur was also known as a par excellence intellectual. His mastership in Islamic and social science was unquestionable.  (usa/zm)
