"Empowering Teachers, Shaping the Nation" says the Rector of UIN Jakarta During Third PPG Batch Opening
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — The Third Batch of the Teacher Education Program (PPG) Program in Position for 2025 was officially inaugurated at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, on Wednesday (September 3, 2025). This program marks a strategic milestone to strengthen teacher professionalism and enhance the overall quality of national education.
Thousands of selected teachers from various regions across Indonesia are participating in this intensive training program, designed to enhance both their pedagogical expertise and professional competencies.
In his opening remarks, UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., expressed profound appreciation to all participating teachers, referring to them as the nation’s enlighteners. According to him, teachers are not only transmitters of knowledge but also cultivators of morality, character, and national values among the younger generation of Indonesia.
“Congratulations to all PPG participants—you are the enlighteners of this nation and an integral part of educating our children. There is no progress without teachers. This is why the Ministry of Religious Affairs has made the PPG program a priority, as it represents our shared commitment to the advancement of the nation,” he said.
The Rector also conveyed his gratitude and recognition to the Minister of Religious Affairs and the entire Ministry leadership for their full support in organizing the program. He emphasized that hosting the Third Batch of the PPG Program in Position at UIN Jakarta is not only an honor but also a strategic mandate for the university to strengthen synergy and collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
“As a rector, I extend my deepest gratitude to the Minister of Religious Affairs and his team for entrusting UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta with the opening of this event. It is both an honor and a responsibility for us, and we remain fully committed to supporting the Ministry’s strategic initiatives,” he stated.
He further reiterated UIN Jakarta’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Ministry’s programs through concrete actions, including the development of eco-theology initiatives, educational digitalization, academic quality enhancement, and internationalization efforts. These initiatives aim to elevate the university’s academic standing while simultaneously reinforcing the Ministry’s role in safeguarding national interests.
“We consistently support the Ministry’s programs. Previously, we have designed and implemented initiatives such as curriculum reform, the establishment of a Green Campus, the advancement of smart classrooms, and further internationalization efforts. These are our commitments to enhance institutional reputation and position the Ministry of Religious Affairs as a driving force for innovation serving the nation’s interests,” he affirmed.
In conclusion, the Rector extended his sincere appreciation to the organizing committee, commending their dedication in ensuring the successful implementation of this event, despite tight preparation timelines and demanding schedules.
