Education and Culture Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, South Korea, Appreciates International Community Service Program

Seoul, UIN Online News - Amaliah Fitriah, Ph.D., the Education and Culture Attaché (Atdikbud) of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Seoul, South Korea, appreciates the International Community Service Program (KKN) conducted by students of the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, from March 23, 2024, to April 21, 2024, in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.

According to Atdikbud, Amaliah Fitriah, the implementation of the International KKN in South Korea is part of global recognition. "Atdikbud serves as a bridge for cooperation between Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia and Higher Education Institutions in South Korea," said Amaliah.

Amaliah continued that besides the International KKN, in her opinion, UIN Jakarta has also informed about the UIN Jakarta Rector's scholarship for South Korean students who want to study at the largest Islamic campus in Indonesia. "We have promoted the UIN Jakarta Rector's scholarship to the public through social media," said Atdikbud.

The Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, said that UIN Jakarta is a university with a mission to become a globally reputed campus. "To achieve global reputation, UIN Jakarta is doing many things, two of which are International KKN and Rector's Scholarships for foreign students," said the Rector.

The Head of the Community Service Center (PPM) of UIN Jakarta, Ade Rina Farida, M.Sc., revealed that the International KKN activities are part of community service at the global level. "International KKN is one of the models of KKN implemented at UIN Jakarta," said Ade Rina.

The Coordinator of International KKN at UIN Jakarta, Dr. Deden Mauli Darajat, M.Sc., said that the KKN in South Korea has been conducted since 2022. "It has been three years of KKN in South Korea, and we express our gratitude for the appreciation from Atdikbud KBRI Seoul regarding this International KKN," concluded Deden.
