In his remarks, Nasaruddin Umar expressed his deep appreciation for the ceremony. He described hafiz as individuals chosen by Allah SWT to safeguard the purity of the Qur’an.

“Many people aspire to become a hafiz, but not everyone is granted this gift by Allah. Today, I am here to personally honor those who have been chosen to preserve His words,” he remarked.

He encouraged all Qur’an memorizers to remain grateful and steadfast in maintaining their memorization from anything that may corrupt the heart.

“Be thankful at every stage of your memorization journey. You may have completed all 30 juz, but remember, the real challenge begins in preserving it,” he advised.

Asep Saepudin Jahar expressed his highest appreciation to HIQMA for organizing the event and nurturing a top-notch Muslim generation within UIN Jakarta.

“Since its establishment, UIN Jakarta remains committed to producing graduates who excel academically while embodying spiritual depth and moral integrity. This Tahfiz Graduation symbolizes the integration of knowledge and Qur’anic values as the very soul of our campus,” he conveyed.

Prof. Asep also encouraged that such initiatives continue as part of UIN Jakarta’s ongoing Islamic tradition and academic dedication.

“We envision hafiz not only as guardians of the Qur’an but also as sources of inspiration in social, academic, and national life,” he added.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi described the event as a historic milestone, both for UIN Jakarta and for Indonesia’s State Islamic Higher Education institutions (PTKIN).

“HIQMA has taken a remarkable initiative. This is the first Tahfiz Graduation ever held within the PTKIN network, and it will serve as a model for other Islamic universities in Indonesia,” he noted.

Prof. Tholabi added that of the 237 students who registered, only 180 successfully passed after undergoing strict evaluation and mentoring by national and international hafiz and judges.

“We are especially proud of two students with disabilities who completed all 30 juz. This proves that physical limitations are no barrier to making the best out of His blessing,” he expressed.

Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Munhanif also underlined the strategic significance of the event for the long-term development of Qur’an memorization culture in higher education.

“This graduation provides an important space for students to showcase their achievements. We hope it will become an ongoing tradition, held annually or biennially. Based on this notion, developing hafiz still requires constant guidance and mentorship,” he explained.
