Rectorate, UIN News Online â€“ UIN Jakarta is ready to strengthen the competence for its students and graduates by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Center for Productivity Training Indonesia (PPPI) in Rectorate Building, Tuesday, (6/6). The memorandum of understanding is expected to be immediately put into a cooperation agreement so that the program can be realized as soon as possible.
The signing of a memorandum of understanding with duration of two years since the issuance was done directly between the Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof. Dr. Dede Rosyada MA and President Director of PT Mutiara Sejati Indonesia (representing PPPI) Hasnawiah Patanna, witnessed by the chairman of PPPI trustee board Dr. H Bomer Pasaribu SE SH, UIN Jakarta Vice Rectors, bureau chiefs, and Head of Creative Economy Center of UIN Jakarta Rizaluddin Kurniawan M.Si.
In his remarks, Rector revealed that a memorandum of understanding is important as part of the effort of UIN Jakarta to strengthen the competence of its students and graduates. Approximately 40% of the study programs in UIN Jakarta is a study program with Islamic natures, such as Islamic Mysticism, Quranic sciences and exegesis, and Islamic Theology and Philosophy.
â€œThese study programs do not have a specific market in the labor market. Nevertheless, they usually have a mental market. We want to strengthening their competencies in order to penetrate the labor market,â€ he said.
In response, Bomer who also the Professor of Economics and Business IPB appreciate the Jakartaâ€™s efforts. According to Bomer, competence is required not only by strengthen the capacity and expertise, but also the ability of students and graduates in responding to the dynamics in the labor market.
He also added that Indonesia is a country with an abundance of high demographic bonus required by a country, however, there is a de-industrialization trend that contradict the fact of demographic bonuses.
â€œStudents are prepared for their competence, reinforced mentally, so they can be prepared to appear in both local or global job market,â€ said Bomer.
Meanwhile, Rizaluddin said that the strengthening of competence will be given through certified training with national-regional scale. This scale is required for UIN Jakarta students to compete in the national and Southeast Asian markets.
â€œFirst, we will paying attention to market demands and student concerns. However, by considering the current market conditions, we will focus on creative economy training,â€ said Rizaluddin. (usa)
