Rectorate, UIN News Online— Nature Lovers Group (KPA) Arkadia UIN Jakarta planned to leave for Iran to climb Damavand mountain, Iran. The ascent is in the week of celebrating the 60th anniversary of UIN Jakarta which falls on May 20, 2017.

The information was obtained by UIN NEWS Online from one of the member who will do the ascent, Muhamad Aminullah, Tuesday (5/2), after the farewell with Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA on the event of Silatnas BEM PTKIN 2017, placed at Auditorium Harun Nasution.

Aminullah added thet him and his group of five members will leave for Iran on Monday (5/7) next week. The five members are Muhamad Aminullah (FIDK/Semester 6), Ahmad Khoiri (FSH/8), M. Abdul Bait (FU/6), dan Hasan Hadi Sofian (FU/10). Besides the five of them, one speaker, Iwan Buana will also coming with them.

“As what is planned. Insya Allah on 20th of May, 2017 in coincide with the 60th UIN anniversary, we would have reached the peak of Mount Damavand. And there, we will fly three flags, there are the flag of the Republic of Indonesia, the flag of UIN Jakarta and Arkadia,” Amin explained.

After the ascent, still according to Amin, the group is scheduled to arrive at UIN Jakarta on 27 May 2017.

When asked about why choosing Mount Damavand, Amin answered that the mountain is the highest mountain in Middle East, which is the symbol of Islamic Emergence

 “All these time, there is no PTKIN who conquered the highest mountain in Middle East, and this ascent will be a record breaker of the only PTKIN that conquers a Mount with 5.610 meters above sea level,” said Aminullah.

In the other place, Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA instructs all the athlete and ascent members to take a good care of themselves and return safe and sound.

 “Please keep the reputation of UIN Jakarta. I wish you all best of luck in hoisting all three flags and return to UIN Jakarta safe and sound,” he said.

For info, Nature Lovers Group (KPA) Arkadia is one of Student Activity Unit (UKM) in the field of nature defending the field itself includes many field such as adventure, advocation, nature conservation, and Search And Rescue (SAR), etc. KPA Arkadia was established on October 2, 1989 at Campus IAIN Jakarta, which was spearheaded by 13 campus activists who enjoyed outdoor activities and also care about the preservation of the environment.
