Rectorate, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta has planned to open an International Class for 2017/2018 for Bachelor degree (S1). The International Class will be opened with four study programs that already accredited by the AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance).
The head of Center for International Cooperation UIN Jakarta Rachmat Baihaky MA to UIN News Online team in his office, Tuesday, (12/27) said that this program targets both domestic and international prospective students.
According to Rachmat, the opening of international class is a part of UIN Jakarta efforts to improve the quality of education and to gain the international reputation as World Class University (WCU). Programs that will be opened are Dirasah Islamiyah program study of the Faculty of Dirasah Islamiyah (FDI), Islamic Counseling study program of the Faculty of Da’wa and Communication Science (FIDKOM), History of Islamic Civilization study program of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) and Islamic Religion Education study program of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teachers Trainings (FITK).
“These study programs already certified by AUN-QA, so it’s normal if we open the international class afterward,” said Rachmat.
The registration for this program will be conducted simultaneously with the regular classes next year. The enrollment systems were not much different with the regular classes, including the curriculum and study time. In contrast to regular classes, the international class will use English as the language of instruction.
Several requirements must be met to apply as the candidate; the applicants must be graduated from high school (SMA / SMK / MA) or equivalent, have a TOEFL score of 500, and also have a health certificate from the relevant institutions. The candidates must also have passed the written test and interview. Students Visa also required for the International prospective student.
“For the International participants who passed the selection test, we will provide scholarships that cover the tuition fee and accommodation during their study in UIN Jakarta. Additionally, they will also get the Indonesian language course,” he said. (ika p/umar)
