UIN Jakarta to Explore Cooperation with the Ministry of Manpower of Indonesia

Jakarta, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta to explore cooperation with the ministry of manpower of Indonesia. The scoping is done to support UIN Jakarta to equip its students for any employment opportunities or plunge into the world of work after completing their studies. Additionally, the hearing is conducted to support the career center of UIN Jakarta which is planned to be launched on November 22th, 2016.

It was said by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada to UIN News Online, Tuesday, (11/15) after an audience with the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia Muhammad Hanif Dhakiri S.Ag MSi in the meeting room of the Ministry of Manpower office, Jakarta.

Rector added, the ministry of manpower will provide vocational education and soft skills training to the students of UIN Jakarta to support the Companion Certificate Diploma (SPKI) program that is being promoted by UIN Jakarta.

“Today, 40% of UIN/IAIN graduates still feel the confusion in finding and determining the scope of work based on their expertise. Hence, it is expected that cooperation that we will be built can solve the problems faced by the Indonesian PTAI graduates,” said Dede.

At the same meeting, rector also explained that UIN Jakarta currently has the focus in improving the research productivities. It is evidenced by the increasing of research budget to 30% from BOPTN funds. It is intended to realize the ideals of UIN Jakarta to become the research university.

The minister of manpower Hanif Dhakiri appreciated and supported the cooperation effort with UIN Jakarta. He also expected that this cooperation could be realized soon as possible and give positive contribution for both institutions.

“We will give full support for the universities to add the vocational education into the curriculum. It is intended to give a necessary skill to the graduates in addition to their study program competence, so they will have another skill that will help them to get absorbed in the market,” said Hanif.

For information, this meeting is attended by Vice Rector of Cooperation Prof Dr Murodi, Head of Cooperation and Institution Division Drs Rasyi’in MA, the Secretary of LP2M Dr. Imam Subchi, Head of Center for Audit and Quality Control Salamah Agung, S.Si., Apt, MA, Ph.D, and other staffs. The MoU signing is scheduled to be held on November 22th, 2016, to coincide with the launch of UIN Jakarta Career Center. (lrf/hmn/ika p/umar)
