UIN Jakarta Student Council Celebrate the International Day of Peace

Rectorate Building, UIN News Online – To celebrate the International Day of Peace, UIN Jakarta Student Council (DEMA) distributes 1000 flowers to civitas academica of UIN Jakarta. “We distribute the flowers to students, lecturers, employees and UIN Jakarta officials,” said the vice president of UIN Jakarta student council Eneng Ova Sofwal Widad while giving the flower to the Rector, Wednesday, (9/21).

In addition to flowers, she continued, we also spread the word of peace in the form of stickers themed “Unity in Diversity”.

The message is quoted from an American Author, Robert Lee Fulghum who was born on June 4th 1937 and received his Bachelor degree at Starr King School in 1961.

In its activities along with several members of DEMA, Ova also hope that all the problems that exist on this campus can be resolved peacefully without violence.

"Aspiration can be delivered in a good way without violence.” She said.

According to www.wikipedia.com, the International Day of Peace It is dedicated to world peace, and specifically the absence of war and violence, such as might be occasioned by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone for humanitarian aid access.  The day was first celebrated in 1982, and is kept by many nations, political groups, military groups, and peoples.

In addition to the peace campaign, DEMA UIN Jakarta also active in Anti-Drugs campaign. (mf/ika p/umar)
