LP2M, NEWS UIN Online- The Institute of Research for Community Services (LP2M) UIN Jakarta increased the number of study participants and quotas, both visiting professors and research fellowships. This is done in order to support the achievement of the ideals of UIN Jakarta which is becoming a research university.

Delivered by the Head of the Institute of Research for Community Services (LP2M) Dr M Arskal Salim GP MA during the interview team of contributors NEWS UIN Online in the newsroom, Thursday (17/03).

“Basically this year there might not be much changes, in general this year will be very similar to the previous year. Only, there are additions to the amount of quotas reserved for research fellowship programs and visiting professors. And for applicants of both programs we will wait until early April,” he explained.

He added that the increase in the number of quotas, had implications on the additional budgets required, this had been boosted 100% for research since 2015. “In 2015 allocations of funds were as large as Rp14 billion, and this year the funds allocated for research amounts to Rp28 billion,” he said.

According to the records, in 2015 the quota was available only for 10 researchers. However, in 2016 UIN Jakarta will provide a quota of 16 people, seven people for visiting professor programs and nine people for research fellowship programs.

At the same time, related to the textbooks used this year, there have been some changes made to the system and also decreased the amount of textbooks. In 2015, textbooks supplied by LP2M UIN Jakarta were as many as 17 books, and this year only 13 textbooks were supplied.

“Terms and filing systems including textbooks of 2016 were changed, even though the lecturers manuscripts are 90% completed it might still be accepted, point being their scripts should be submitted in or before July so that plans can all run as expected. In addition, the amount of this textbooks is the result of a joint evaluation,” he explained. (LRF)
