UIN Jakarta Strengthens our Arskal Salim as a Professor of Islamic Law and Politics

Main Auditorium, NEWS online-- UIN UIN Jakarta confirmed Prof. Dr. Arskal M. Salim, GP., MA, Professor of Political Islamic Law Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH). Inauguration held in the Senate and Assembly UIN Jakarta 100th graduation ceremony at the Auditorium Harun Nasution, Saturday (21/05/16) is characterized by embedding toga by Rector Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA.

In the inauguration, Chairman of the Institute for Research and Community Services (LP2M) UIN Jakarta conveyed a scientific oration entitled Legal Pluralism as Framework Analysis of Political Studies Islamic Law. In conclusion the scientific oration, Arskal said that although legal pluralism is commonly used in legal anthropology, the illustrations which will be published, shows how legal pluralism can also be applied as an approach to the study of politics in Islamic law.

"Pluralism of law as a framework for analysis of political studies law is not simply measured by the presence of more than one legal system in force in a same area, but it also requires the existence of an interaction between the various different legal systems," said someone who has published dozens of books and journals These national and international publications.

In addition to actively teaching at the Faculty of Sharia and Law UIN Jakarta, he has also been doing research in several research institutions, both within and outside the country. Not only that, Arskal also once served as a Senior Research Lecturer, at the University of Western Sydney, Australia (2012-2015), Assistant Professor, Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilizations, Aga Khan University, London United Kingdom (2009-2012), and Postdoctoral Fellow, Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology Germany (2006-2009), and other positions.

Some research scholarships from various institutions have been acquired, these institutions include the French National Reasearch Agency (ANR) Project Grant, France (2011-2013), The British Academy Grant Small Reasearch, United Kingdom (2010), Max Planck Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship, Germany (2006-2009) as well as several other research institutes.

On the same occasion, the Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA appreciates these achievements, and wish all academic faculties at UIN Jakarta to participate in these achievements.
