UIN Jakarta sent two Imams to Canada

Rectorate, UIN News— UIN Jakarta sent two Imams to Sayeda Khadija Centre, Mississauga, Canada. They are both named Dasrizal Marah Nainin S.SI., M.IS (Lecturer of Hadits Interpret from Faculty of Ushuluddin) and Ali Mohammad Al Hudhaibi,  S.S.I.,Lc.,MA (Imam of Student Centre UIN Jakarta Mosque). They visited The Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA in order to bid farewell on Friday, June 3rd 2016.

When receiving both of the representative in his office, the Rector congratulated them and told them that this could be the new good experiences for them. They are advised by the rector to use this opportunity to give publicity about UIN Jakarta and the Muslim of Indonesia.

“Congratulations, and I hope everything goes well. I want you to take this opportunity to hone your skills and experience. And do a publicity about UIN Jakarta and Indonesian Muslims who remained in peace and harmony in the midst of a cultural, religion, language and ethnic diversity,” The rector added.

In the same place, The Head of Center for International Cooperation (PLKI) Rachmat Baihaky MA said that the Sayeda Khadija centre, who chaired by Dr Hamid Slimi, requested UIN Jakarta to send the two Imams.

“He (Dr Hamid Slimi –red) has toured in Indonesia some time ago. And he found something “interesting” about Muslims in Indonesia. Especially regarding the accent of reading the Qur’an. As a result, Hamid Silmi choose and ask UIN Jakarta to send two people who will be the imam for tarawih in Sayeda Khadija Centre Mosque, Canada during the month of Ramadan,”  He said.

Baihaky also added that the entire cost of living and transportation for the Imams are covered by the foundation (Sayeda Khadija Centre –red), and scheduled to depart at Saturday, June 4th 2016 and returned to Indonesia after the Eid al-Fitr.

When met by UIN Online News team,  both Dasrizal and Al Hudhaibi are admitted that they feel very happy and grateful for this opportunity, they hope to bring the good name of UIN Jakarta in particular, and Islam Nusantara in general.

“We believed that this is the blessing from reading the Qur’an. This opportunity is a mandate that we have to do it earnestly, since we are carrying the good name of UIN Jakarta and The Muslim of Indonesia,” They said. (lrf/Umar Syarif Audah)
