UIN Jakarta Devises Lecturer Research-Based Working Hours

Gd. Library Center, UIN NEWS online-- UIN Jakarta will design research-based faculty office hours. With working hours, the lecturers are expected to have more time to do research, besides teaching and community service.

This was conveyed by the Rector Prof. Dr. Dede Rosyada MA on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Library Center Building UIN Jakarta, Friday (29/1). "We at the rectors building, together with the deans, designed the new working hours," he said.

With more focused research activities, he continued, the lecturers can produce research that can be published in international journals nationally-accredited. Especially for lecturers in science, research products generated in the form of instruments, and certified products Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).

"With this schedule, it could be professors teaching only 2 credits. The rest, he observed, "he said.

With the business hours of today, continued the Rector, the lecturers often have difficulties in conducting research. In addition to teaching with a load of up to 14 credits, no lecturer will be permitted more than that.

"As a result, professors researching will not be permitted to research in a tired state as it would have a negative result," he said.
