SPs UIN Jakarta to Sign Cooperation with MUI

Jakarta, UIN News Online – To increase academic competencies of the ulemas, UIN Jakarta post-graduate-school (SPs) signed the cooperation agreement with The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), at MUI Office, Jakarta (8/16). The memorandum of agreement was signed by the director of SPs UIN Jakarta Prof Dr. Masykuri Abdillah and KH Abdullah Jaidi from MUI.

Prof Dr. Masykuri Abdillah said the cooperation with MUI is formed to provide an opportunity for the ulemas to increase their academic potential through the doctoral program (S3) majoring in Islamic Studies, particularly in the field of social analysis and fatwa. In this case, the S2 ulemas can resume their education in SPs UIN Jakarta.

“They can resume their education in SPs UIN Jakarta. During their studies, they will be given a particular curriculum to improve their competencies by 53 semester credit hours.” He said.

Masykuri hope this program can run as expected. As an initial step, the cooperation will last for five years and can be extended according to the agreement of both parties. In addition to improving their academic competencies, they are also expected to perform a variety of research and devote themselves to the community.
