Social Affairs Minister: UIN Jakarta Must Spearhead the Science and Technology

Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta through the Faculty of Da’wa and Communication (FIDIKOM) must spearhead the advancement of science and technology in field of social welfare and competing with another universities, both domestic and international.

This was conveyed by Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa during her speech in national seminar that is organized by social welfare department FIDIKOM UIN Jakarta, themed “Pengembangan Kompetensi Multikultural Guna Mencetak Pekerja Sosial yang Handal dan Profesional”, Thursday, (4/20), at Harun Nasution Auditorium, Campus I of UIN Jakarta.

Khofifah added, in order to spearheading the science and technology, UIN Jakarta must look forward to to create some innovative ideas. “We are supposed to think outside the box, as long as the idea is positive for the sake of our common good,” said Khofifah.

She asserts, by doing so, we will able to creating breakthrough innovations in science and technology, especially in the field of social welfare or social work, both national and international.

“We hope UIN Jakarta will do the positive and innovative things in developing social welfare programs,” she hoped.

Present in the event, Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA, Dean of FIDIKOM Dr Arief Subhan MSi, the head of Indonesian Social Workers Educators Association (IPPSI) Dr Oman Sukmana MSi, Secretary for Social Rehabilitation Directorate General Dr Kanya Eka Santi, Dr Ir Endrotomo MT, and all civitas academica of UIN Jakarta.

On the same occasion, Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada highly appreciated the event. Furthermore, he also hoped that the cooperation between UIN Jakarta and The Ministry of Social Affairs can be expanded even further.

“We hope the Ministry of Social Affairs can involves our students and lecturers from social welfare department to conduct research on social welfare and other social studies,” said Dede. (usa)
