Diorama Room, UIN News Online – Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA urges the civitas academica of UIN Jakarta to increase the International Publication. It was said by Rector while giving a speech at the workshop organized by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M), entitled “Preparing And Submitting Abstract International Academic Events and Presenting Paper in English at International Conference” at UIN Jakarta Diorama Room, Thursday, (1/5).

In addition to appreciating the workshop, he also expected that this activity could increase the scientific journals publication from all academicians of UIN Jakarta to be accessed by the world community.

“As you may know and feel, I am endorsing the LP2M to increase the number of International Journals. It corresponds to what we planned, which is to become a World Class University (WCU). But of course it needs to be supported by the number of international or Scopus indexed scientific journals,” said Dede.

He also added that the number of Scopus indexed scientific journals done by the civitas of academica of UIN Jakarta has reached at least 300 journals.

“The results can be read by everyone if our works has been indexed by Scopus, by attending the International Conference, we can introduce our research models to the world community, if more peoples are familiar with our scientific works, automatically our institution will be more recognizable and eventually will be ended up as the foundation for people to study in UIN Jakarta,” he added.

Also present in the event, the Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Arskal Salim GP MA, Dr Zulfan Tadjoeddin (Senior Lecture of University of Western Sydney), and civitas academica from various faculties.

In his short reports, Arskal explained about the development of Scopus indexed scientific journals done by the civitas academica of UIN Jakarta today. Until now, there have been several faculties and internal institutions who actively contribute the Scopus indexed International publications.

“Among them are the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, the Faculty of Science and Technology, the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teachers Training, and the Center for Language Development (PPB),” said Arskal.

“As for 2017 fiscal years, LP2M increasing its quota in financing the International conferences from 10 into 20 international conferences. Therefore, it is expected that all academicians of UIN Jakarta can be motivated to submit an international conference proposal to us to be considered whether it can be passed or need to be improved in order to have a better outcome,” he added.
