Rector: Employee Must Be Skilled and Have Integrity

Student Center Field, UIN NEWS Online - Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof. Dr. Dede Rosyada said the ability of employees in managing educational institutions not only rely on intelligence and soft skill but should be coupled with attitude, discipline, and integrity. Without the attitude of discipline and integrity it would be impossible to work well.

It was said by the Rector when he led the flag ceremony of the anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia in the Field Student Center on Thursday (17/08/2017). The ceremony was attended by vice rectors, deans, Dharma Wanita Persatuan, University Senate, and a number of employees, lecturers, and students of UIN Jakarta.

The Rector asserted that, as employees of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, state servants (officers and lecturers) should develop both abilities in order to obtain optimal work results. That is, once again, employees do not rely solely on skills and intelligence alone but also must be supported with discipline and integrity.

"This is in accordance with the five motto of the Ministry of Religion, that are Integrity, Professionalism, Innovation, Responsibility, and Exemplary," he said.

Integrity means harmony between the heart, the mind, the words, and the good and true deeds; Professionalism is a disciplined, competent, and timely work with the best results; Innovation refines existing ones and creates new things better; Responsibility means working thoroughly and consequently; And exemplary means to be a good example for others.

After leading the ceremony, the Rector then pinned the Badge of President of the Republic of Indonesia Award Satyalencana Karya Satya to 21 civil servants who have served for 20 years and 30 years. The 20-year award was given to three civil servants and a 30-year award was awarded to 18 civil servants. (usa-rs)
