Rector: Democracy in Indonesia is Getting Matured

Uni Club, UIN News Online – Society and democracy system in Indonesia is getting matured. This is evidenced by the political participation of the society in the local elections, to give their vote to the candidates. So far, the election is running fair and smoothly.

It was conveyed by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada during press conference, Tuesday, (2/14), at Uni Club, Harun Nasution Auditorium, Campus I of UIN Jakarta. According to Dede, UIN Jakarta as a campus that carries the principles of the moderate, tolerant, pluralistic, and harmonious as well as part of a community, have an obligation to maintain order along during the election.

“Let us fill our rights as the citizen of Indonesia by giving our vote to the candidate that is appropriate with our conscience,” said rector.

He added, as a good citizen that brings peace and democracy, we should be able to avoid things that can disrupt the election.

“Let us keep the purity and order of the elections that will be held simultaneously in several areas tomorrow, avoid money politics, bribery, and other negative actions,” he said.

Also present in the press conference, all voice rectors, the institutional heads, and journalists from several media that are invited.

In accordance with rector circular letter Number UN.01/R/HK.00.5/548/2017, about the recommendation to all academicians of UIN Jakarta with voting rights (DPT), all activities in UIN Jakarta will be closed tomorrow in order to provide the opportunities to all civitas academica of UIN Jakarta to give the right to vote in elections, on Wednesday (2/15).
