Student Affairs Building, UIN News Online – To introduce Indonesian Culture, UIN Jakarta Student Choir (PSM) will participate in two International events in South Korea on October 18-24. Andriansyah Nur Hidayat, the head of PSM UIN Jakarta explained, on October 18 to 21 PSM will participate the Busan Choral Festival and Competition (BCFC) and on October 23 to 24 at the International Indonesia-Korea Friendship Concert (IFCIK) in Busan Indonesia Center, South Korea.
“BCFC is the one of prestigious event which is regularly held by Korean Choral Institute every year, while IFCIK is a concert event to be held at the Indonesian Embassy in Korea with a cross-cultural mission between Indonesia and South Korea.” Said Andriansyah to UIN News Online, Friday (9/9).
In this concert, he added, PSM UIN Jakarta will perform Indonesian and South Korean folk song.
At the same occasion, the director for Student Institution Trisno Muhammad Riyadi MSi explained, PSM UIN Jakarta get an invitation from the Co-Chairpersons of 2016 Busan Choral Festival and Competition on April, 26th. As a follow-up, he continued, the Vice Rector of Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Yusran Razak, MA already sent a proposal to the Rector of UIN Jakarta to issue the approval letter.
“We have sent the proposal from August, and it’s still on process.” He said.
PSM UIN Jakarta will send its 40 members consisting of 35 singers, two trainers, a conductor, choreographer and two officials.
For information, PSM UIN Jakarta is a part of Student Activity Units and facilitates its members to develop their talents and interest in singing in choir through vocal classes and also active in National and International choir festivals. (mf/ika p/umar)
