Menristek Dikti Officialy Launched the Opening of SNMPTN-SBMPTN

Jakarta, UIN News Online – The Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) Mohammad Nasir officially launched the preparation for National Test for State Universities (SNMPTN) and Joint Entrance Test for State Universities (SBMPTN) 2017, Friday, (1/13) at the Kemenristekdikti office, Jakarta. The inauguration was attended by the officials from Kemenristekdikti, Directorate General of Islamic Education from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Directorate General of Primary and Secondary Education from the Ministry of Education and Culture, State universities rectors from across Indonesia, as well as the representatives from SMA/SMK/MA. Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada also witnessed the event.
In his speech, Mohammad Nasir explained that the SNMPTN and SBMPTN 2017 are implemented by the conceptual basis to establish a unified national education system through vertical integration between secondary education and higher education. Additionally, it also aims to give recognition to all academic achievement of the students during their secondary education process as a consideration for the state universities new student admission process.
“Another concept is to give a role to high school in participating the selection test along with the state universities,†he said.
Moreover, he continued, SNMPTN-SBMPTN will established an academic culture that values the honesty and the use of information technology.
Meanwhile, the SNMPTN-SBMPTN 2017 Chief Committee Ravik Karsidi explained that SNMPTN is a selection based on the academic achievement, while SBMPTN is a selection based on the written exam by using paper based test or computer based test method, or a combination results between the written test and skill test, while the Independent Enrollment is a selection process which regulated and determined by each state universities.
Registration for SNMPTN PPA will commence on 21 February to 6 March 2017, administration test on 16 March-15 April 2017, the result will be announced on April 26th, 2017.
While for SBMPTN, the registration will commence on 11 April to 5 May 2017, skill test on 17 or 18 May, the result will be announced on June 13th, 2017. (usa)
