Malik Fadjar Inaugurated as Figure of National Education

Harun-Nasution-210x300Lecturer of Graduate School (SPs) UIN Jakarta Prof Dr HA Malik Fadjar M.Sc is inaugurated as national figure who give significant contribution in UNESCO program. The inauguration of Indonesia’s National Commission for UNESCO (KNIU) Ministry of Education and Culture is addressed directly by the Minister Anies Baswedan Ph.D, taking place in the Ministry in Jakarta, Thursday (27/8/2015).

“This inauguration is being given as a form of long-term commitment to education, culture, and science. Not only for once or twice, but for the overall contribution of the figure this whole time,” said Anies.

In the inauguration ceremony, Minister for Religious Affairs (1998-1999) and Minister of National Education (2001-2004) is included to become the recipient of the inauguration in sector of education. Other sectors of inauguration are science, culture, and communication.

Malik aside, two recipients to the education sector are Prof Dr Daoed Joesoef and Prof Dr Conny R. Semiawan. Daoed was minister for education and culture in the Development Cabinet (1978-1983), while Conny R. Semiawan was an academician and professor in teaching.

Inauguration for sector of science is being given to Prof Dr Sagkot Marzuki Ph.D DSC, Prof Dr Indrawati Ganjar, and Prof Dr Umar Anggara Jenie. In Sector of culture, inauguration is being given to Taufiq Ismail together with Prof Dr Edi Sedyawati, Ir Hartono Haryoguritno, and Prof Dr Taufiq Abdullah. Meanwhile, in sector of communication, inauguration is being given to Prof Dr Bagir Manan SH MCL, Herawati Diah, Dr Jakob Oetama, and Prof Dr Ing Wardiman Djojonegoro.

In a separate occasion, secretary to the Senate of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Suwito MA extended his congratulatory message for inauguration given to Malik. According the Professor in Teaching in UIN Jakarta, Malik was a figure worth becoming national figure of education due to his contributions, both as academicians as well as public officials in national education sector.
