Lecturer from UIN Jakarta Achieved 1st rank in the 26th National MTQ

Mataram, UIN News Online - Dasrizal Marah Nainin SSI MIS, a lecturer from the Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Jakarta, achieved 1st rank in the 26th National Qur’an Recital Competition (MTQ), Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara which lasted from July 28th until August 7th, 2016. “Alhamdulillah, I achieved the 1st rank in Qira’at Sab’ah branch competition with a score of 99, 93,” said Dasrizal to UIN News Online through social media, Tuesday (8/9).

“I have the honor of being the Kafilah from DKI Jakarta,” said the alumnus from the faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah (FDI) UIN Jakarta who was greeted by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Basuki Tjahja Purnama upon his return from Mataram.

Dasrizal who had been the delegate from UIN Jakarta to become an Imam during the last Ramadhan in Sayeeda Khadeja Center at Mississauga, Canada, is pleased for his achievement at the event. In addition to Rp 22 Million reward, he managed to make DKI Jakarta as the 2nd overall winner after the province of Banten and followed by the province of Riau who got the 3rd rank.

The National Qur’an Recital Competition (MTQ) is a biennial event. It was officially opened by The President of Republic Indonesia, Joko Widodo on Thursday (7/28) and closed officially by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin on Saturday (8/6). The 27th MTQ, later on, will be held in North Sumatra. (ika p/mf/umar)
