Jamiyah Singapore-UIN Jakarta to Explore Cooperation

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Muslim Missionary Society (JAMIYAH) Singapore exploring cooperation international cooperation in the field of Islamic education with the Faculty Islamic theology and the faculty of Sharia and Law of UIN Jakarta. The scoping of cooperation is carried out through the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA and JAMIYAH Singapore Senior Director Prof Dr Hussin Mutalib in rectorate building, Monday, (4/10).

Also present in the event, Vice Rector of Cooperation Prof Dr Murodi MA, Head of Center for International Cooperation (PLKI) Rachmat Baihaky MA, Head of the Institute for Research and Community Outreach (LP2M) Prof Dr Arskal Salim GP MA, and Dean of the faculty of Sharia and Law Dr. Asep Saepudin Jahar, MA.

The letter of intent mentioned that both parties will encourage the following activities to promote international academic cooperation in several areas, such as the exchange of materials and resources in education and research, publications, and academic information, possibility of Degree Programs in Islamic studies and Exchange of Faculty members and students.

“Before implementing these activities, the parties will discuss the opportunities and challenges presented and may thereafter enter into specific agreements based on the mutually agreed objectives and outcomes through, for instance, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU or MOA),” said Hussin.

In response, Rector himself expressed his appreciation toward the cooperation plan. “Hopefully, this cooperation plan will improve the scientific development for UIN Jakarta and Singapore Muslim community,” said Rector. (usa)
