International Students Mingle With the Local Students at PBAK

PLKI Office, UIN News Online– UIN Jakarta International students are mingling with the local students at Introduction to Cultural Academic and Student Affairs (PBAK) activities, August 24-26, 2016.

This event was followed by new students from 11 faculties and 58 study programs. Among them are 52 International students from Asia, Africa, and America. “They were required to follow PBAK activities in order to adapt quickly in the campus for four years, both in terms of the social, cultural and academic environment, both formal and informal.” Said the Head of Center for International Cooperation (PLKI), Rachmat Baihaky, MA on Thursday (8/25).

Famara Massa Jawla, an international student from Gambia who accepted in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) majoring in International Relations Studies Program, admitted that this activity is very fun and unique even though quite tiring.

”We learned a lot of new things to interact with fellow students. This event is unique, and that's what makes it fun. I found it quite difficult to adapt at the beginning, But Alhamdulillah, I can overcome the difficult situation.” Said Famara with his stiff Indonesian accent.

For information, all international students in UIN Jakarta already provided with Bahasa Indonesia course for the international student (BIMA) 1-3 at for six months at UIN Jakarta Language Development Center for free. (mf/umar)
